For a fussy eater like me to try an exotic dish..it really takes ALOT of courage!And i mean A-L-O-T!

My idea of going to Holland Village to have dinner followed by a drink..and so..tis is where Kor and I went at the end of our busy day..yesterday (28 Aug)
Took a bus from Commonwealth to Holland V..


My partner-in-crime..yah..we shared weal and woe literally yesterday nite!!!Not only last nite..but for the many things that have happened so far..i'm glad to have you ard!!!

After much consideration..tis is the restaurant that we went to:

Sorry..nv take pic of the restaurant's signboard..too insignificant to bother..haha..

Now for the oh-so-yummy food..or so if u think it's so..
The complimentary starter to whet your appetitie:

Let's see how we rated the starters by looking at wat we finished:

Now for the appetizer which was supposedly "recommended" by the waiter..However..we did not understand wat he was babbling about..so Kor happily nodded!
And tis is wat we ended up with:

Some bread-like thing in the background to go together with the mashed-up i-dunno-wat and the salads..
The salads were gd..but the stuff in the middle: Acquired tasting food..
And the leaf-like popiah-ish thingy..leaf wrapped in rice..erm..interesting taste lor..Wat can i say?

Now for the verdict of the appetizer:

Now tis looks of better improvement from the starter..At least there's improvement!! And there was chilli to go with which wasn't too bad..so chilli mask the taste of the food..so it dun taste as badinteresting..

Now for the main course(s):

Kor's main course: Cous cous
Which is actually mutton stew!The bowl nearer is actually rice!!!But it seriously looks like dried fried coconut la..
And to think Kor came here before with his family..years ago..and he ate tis then..
So it was a relatively safe choice for a main course..

But mine definitely is a much safer choice:

Tis is lamb chop! (kebab)
Looks like small serving..but super filling la!!And i finished it!!Now that explains why there's no need for a verdict for tis dish!

Now for the complimentary dessert:

It seriously looks not bad la..the nuts does look appetising..budden..looks are deceiving!!
But alrite la..i finished 1.5 and Kor ate 1..we left 0.5 for souvenir sake..since we din finish all of our dishes..minus the kebab!

Having said so much..do you noe wat cuisine we had?

It's LEBANESE food!!
Yeah..you din read wrongly!!It indeed is LEBANESE and MIDDLE EASTERN cuisine!!!
3 words to describe: ACQUIRED TASTING FOOD!
haha..kor..it was an eye-opener!!or rather..mouth-dropping experience!!

And wat a coincidence when my Friendster horoscope wrote tis for today (29 Aug): "Today is all about pushing past your comfort zone and opening your eyes to how other people live. Visit a hot new ethnic restaurant and explore another culture through its cuisine."

How so true...
And after moving our butt off the Lebanese restaurant..we went to Wala Wala..

Our drinks at Wala Wala: Erdinger(Kor's) and Hoegarden Forbidden Fruit(me)


This was to see if his face turned red...


Kor in his semi-drunk state..End up i had to finish up his remaining Erdinger.. But we took up the offer for Happy Hour..1 for 1..so we had another glass of beer each!!!

Btw..mixing of alcohol is seriously not gd..it makes u drunk much much much faster!!Even though you might have a high threshold for alcohol..


Tis if Kor's 2nd glass of Erdinger..tis has a slightly lower alcohol content..but still..we end up having to share tis glass..

I only managed to finish this much for my 2nd glass..

becoz Erdinger is more ex than Hoegarden..and has a lower alcohol content..so it's better to finish Erdinger.. So we left Wala Wala with tis much of Hoegarden undrunk!!
